ALONG with the editors of This Week not long ago we too found a childish comfort in the fact that it has now been statistically proved that only about 8 per cent of the things people worry about are worth it. Having a lingering love for statistics, treacherous though they be, we read on: 40 per cent of human worries, says a University of Wisconsin study, are about things that never happen; 30 per cent are about things past help; and 22 per cent are "petty and needless."
