Evolution of a Memo
THEY say some people's lives become unmanageable, but I always managed. . .somehow. The only eccentricity I noticed about myself was that I was always without a pencil when I wanted to write down someone's address, or an appointment. But I could usually borrow one from the bartender. And besides, it made a good gag--an editor without a pencil. Ha, ha! And without a pen. Ho, ho! And without a memo or address book either. Ha, ha! I managed!
