EVERY alcoholic who has moved into sobriety knows firsthand the surging feeling of being reborn, in a sense, as his personality emerges from the shoddy thing it had become during his years of drinking. Certainly one of the greatest satisfactions associated with AA's Twelfth Step is the privilege of watching this personality change occur in others who come to find in AA the solution to their drinking problems.
