From the Grass Roots

My prayer used to be, "Lord, give me strength and courage and fortitude; please give me peace of mind and serenity." Always I asked for something ending with the usual thanks for all my blessings, which sometimes was a bit feeble. Yes, it worked. I was given some of the things I asked for; that is, I got them eventually, after I had prayed and prayed. Now and then my pleas were answered promptly, usually in case of great stress.
