Abe Took Five
After seven years in AA we are still constitutionally restless. After a speaker has held forth for twenty minutes, our listening apparatus gets scrambled and we can't hear a thing. There are thousands like us in AA. The blame falls not on the speaker, but on the chairman of the meeting. It is his job to chair the meeting in such a way that the new man will return for more. Lincoln spoke for five minutes at Gettysburg. The speaker who preceded him spoke for two hours. (Anyone recall his name?)
