WHEN my husband first became affiliated with this program, it was with much mixed emotion on my part. On the one hand I was happy to think that now perhaps his drinking days would be at an end but I was unhappy to think that he needed to accept the aiding crutch of AA in order to accomplish this. I had always thought it possible for a person to quit his or her drinking, if he or she really wanted to.
