This is the story of a family's progressive decline through alcoholism and its progressive recovery through AA. It is a composite story, based on extensive research among wives of AA members by a nonalcoholic, Joan K. Jackson, and is a condensation of an article appearing originally in the "Quarterly Journal of Studies on Alcohol," published at Yale University.
