PERSONALITY CHANGE: "The strength and vitality of Alcoholics Anonymous may be due to the fact that they have discovered the 'cue lines' which are necessary to start the emotional reaction that results in a changed personality," says Warden Paul R. Brown of the Westchester County Penitentiary, East View, N. Y. "In thirty years of working with problem drinkers, I have observed that the changed person, when discussing the change--a year or a few years later--will invariably mention a small act, a word or a phrase that he could not forget and which somehow started the ferment that resulted in a changed person."
