Dear Joe:

The following letter was written by a member to his 26-year-old son, both of whom saw combat together in the late Korean conflict.

SOMETIMES IT COMES SOONER and sometimes later when a man realizes that if alcohol just isn't for him, he'll never be able to get off the treadmill unless he realizes that he possesses an incurable allergy (which is in no way any fault of his)--and decides to quit trying to experiment and trying to kid himself into the idea that he can handle it. Johns Hopkins University maintains that if you can answer "yes" to three of the questions which I am separately enclosing, their considerable research points definitely to the fact that you are an alcoholic.
