SOME ANSWERS TO "M.M.'s" GRIPE ABOUT BAR-BY-BAR AA TALKS

First of all, M. M. is not alone in the problem and attitude assumed for I and countless others have also gone through the same "growing pains." I think the first step for M. M. to undertake would be a change of attitude towards the supposition that "personal stories do not help the newcomer." Indeed they do! For they give the prospective alcoholic an opportunity to parallel his own quirks of nature to that of the speaker; thus he is able to decide that he really is an alcoholic.
