From the Grass Roots

WORTH CELEBRATING

I have just come home from a meeting that held me spellbound. My group celebrated its twelfth anniversary, and AA, as it was "put out" tonight by the charter members, was something to behold! Six of the seven original members were there. One had passed away after fourteen years of sobriety. Four of those present had from thirteen to seventeen years straight of AA sobriety. Two had done some further research work, but were back again--sober and active. Only two of the seven are still active members of this group. The other four came a goodly distance to be with us, and to give us a wonderful meeting. Many "youngsters" of from four to twelve years in AA, who started their AA life in this group, also came from out-lying places to help us celebrate.
