From the Grass Roots

In ten years I have seen quite a few AAs and their various approaches to the program. I have found that there are a number of AAs, and I mean those who have been in for some time, who have never accepted the entire program. They haven't accepted or taken or used all of the Steps. Some accept the First and Twelfth Steps and pay no attention to the others, some can't accept the Third Step, or the Eleventh and so on. They are sober, successful, apparently happy and doing a fine job, but, oh brother, what they are missing! I wonder if they aren't like the fellow who stood so close to the elephant that he couldn't see the circus.
