Newcomer's comment, after hearing all about the many aspects and tools of AA--open meetings, closed meetings, books, pamphlets, Grapevines, Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, slogans, Serenity Prayer, coffee-and-cake therapy, telephone therapy, taking inventory, making amends, carrying the message, etc.--"Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to just to stop drinking!"
