But Only God Can Make a Tree

IT'S A RAINY NOVEMBER DAY here today. When I awoke the fog and the mist outside the window seemed to seep into the room. Oh, my aching sinuses! As I groped for my slippers the gray day ahead stretched endlessly. Soon the snow and the slush would come, and I'd feel shut in again. No more lovely hours in our sunny garden. My husband had started the coffee (bless him) and as I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth that loveliest of odors came up to me. Yank off the hair net! A quick splash with cold water, a fast once over with the hair brush, a little lipstick--say girl, you began to look human.
