Food for Thought

I BEGAN ATTENDING the Family Group meetings a little over three years ago. I heard a lot of discussion of the Twelve Steps. However, when we came to Step Four, everyone agreed that it was good and that we should do it, and once in a while I even heard someone admit that she had taken a mental inventory. So I decided we didn't have to go to these extremes. So I just skipped Step Four, and not taking that one, naturally there wasn't much I could do about Five through Nine. I went along for some time trying to work Steps Ten, Eleven and Twelve each day. This helped me some but nevertheless things didn't seem to be just right for me. Perhaps it was merely that I felt a little guilty saying that I worked the Twelve Steps when actually I was only using half of them. At any rate, I wasn't too happy about the situation.
