What's Wrong With Pink Clouds?

MY PERSONAL FEELING is that recovered alcoholics ought not to shy away from whatever joy and happiness comes their way in the natural order of their recovery. The term "pink cloud" is frequently used in AA circles as a term of disfavor, denoting self-delusion which might in any way interfere with the proper facing of reality. Sometimes, I find, the term is extended to take in practically any form of wellbeing. This mistrust of pleasant emotion springs, I suppose, from a fear that such feeling might be false or illusory.
