When the Chips Are Down

RESTLESSLY, she paced back and forth on the well worn rug of indecision. The packed ash tray testified to the numerous cigarettes she had smoked to offset her nervous tension, all to no avail. This experience was not new to her for she had endured it many times in the past. What was new to her was the solution: in the past her old elusive friend, alcohol, seemed to numb her from the reality of it all. But now she was in a dilemma of indecision after being introduced to the local AA group.
