Bess Died Sober

BESS DIED SOBER. Been sober five years. Bess was a long time dying and she died slowly, but there came a moment when she did die. Bess was born with her hands clenched. She died with them wide open. Coming into life she tried to grasp everything. Leaving, all that she possessed slipped away. Bess was born crying and those who stood about were laughing. As Bess died those who stood about were crying. Cancer.
