Twelve Suggested Questions
for use in taking <lbA DAILY MORAL INVENTORY
- Am I constantly irritated by large or small annoyances, or do I take things as they come; in short, do I take it easy?
- Do I maintain an unrelenting, high-speed, high-pressure pace, or have I the inestimable value of setting aside some time each day for prayer and meditation?
- Do I have real resources within myself or am I forever trying to escape my own thoughts and feelings, depending on others to entertain and amuse me; in short, am I trying to grow spiritually in this AA way of life?
- Am I growing a crop of hatreds and resentments to sour and embitter my AA way of life or does fellowship, love and affection dominate my relationship with others?
- Does an appeal for help make me close my mind and billfold, or am I generous with my time and money when the cause is good?
- Do worry and guilt gnaw at my peace of mind and serenity, or am I content to do my best to solve each problem as it comes, forgetting past failures and mistakes?
- Do I rigidly refrain from taking another's inventory, and neither criticize nor listen to gossip; in short, can I live and let live?
- Do I longingly look back over the past or have I completely and entirely surrendered without reservation to a power greater than myself?
- Am I self-centered, or do I take other people's needs and desires into account as well as my own?
- Am I intolerant of other people and other opinions that differ from mine, or am I prepared to concede that others have a right to their own habits and beliefs?
- Am I merely paying lip service to the principles of my AA program, or are they a practical and dynamic part of my daily, even hourly, life?
- Lastly, do I endeavor to make my life of as much service to others as possible without meddling, interfering or fussing?
