ONCE, when the undersigned was a prisoner-of-war, the distinguished English novelist Charles Morgan wrote me to this effect: Though a prison closes doors, it may open windows. Now, some fourteen years later, I recall and seek to use again this golden counsel. I am a patient in a mental institution. Here the doors are locked. But AA has opened a window . . . .
