ONCE-UPON-A-MOVIE, 'way back in "my day," a handsome new leading man named Cagney suddenly shoved a half-grapefruit in the face of his Ever-Loving, thus putting an end to the William Powell hand-kissers and opening the era of Treat 'Em Rough. As I remember, the application of the citrus facial chastened the lady no little, causing her to adopt a very different tack in her personal relations.
