My Coming-of-age

I AM NO LONGER CONCERNED WITH the cause (or causes) of my affliction--only with the effect. When I first came into AA, I searched for reasons that caused me to acquire the disease of alcoholism. It seemed to me that this search was necessary in order to justify the kind of person I had become and what I had done to my family and friends. I believed that nothing happens without a reason, and I still believe so.
