Never a Working Stiff

I CAN'T RECALL ever having met another alcoholic while I was drinking who was a plain working stiff. . .a wage earner. Always I was up against a talent scout from some movie studio; an oil man, or rich cattleman out on the town for a little spree; a businessman, attorney or doctor, a professional athlete, or someone looking for a likely location for a new business they were about to set up. But never a working man unless you knew the guy personally and he had to be honest.
