From the Grass Roots

I AM ONE OF THOSE DRUNKS who did not come to AA looking for a way to stay sober, but still looking for a way to do the thing I had spent twenty-five years of my life trying to do: drink without getting drunk. I am glad now I did not find that; instead I found a happy new way of life I can live one day at a time without drinking. Thanks to the people in AA, the Twelve Steps, the Grapevine, and the God of my understanding, I have been able to make it one day at a time since December, 1946.
