From the Grass Roots

I MUST TELL YOU of the strange coincidence that took place here in our group. Six years ago in Japan, I met a sergeant who became my close friend. At that time, both of us were heavy drinkers, not yet in AA. Then we became separated. Last year, this sergeant was assigned to this base. (Neither of us had dreamed that the other was alcoholic.) Two months ago this sergeant, not knowing of an alcoholic contact here, sent a letter to your Headquarters asking for a contact. Someone from General Service Headquarters gave him my name--so here we are, old friends who met again through AA. I think that's one for the books.
