NOT every person we drank with was our "boozing" pal. Our only common bond was drinking. Not every member of Alcoholics Anonymous is our "bosom" pal. Our only common bond is alcoholism. To find the solution to this common problem is the only reason for AA membership. No other reason exists. No other qualification is necessary than a desire to find this solution. We love all alcoholics, but we do not like them all, hence our personality likes and dislikes ought to be subordinated to our primary purpose.
