I Didn't Know Anything About ALCOHOL. . .
I WAS NINETEEN when I first entered into marriage. I had six children within eleven years and some fifteen years later I found myself alone with four children to support. . . . At thirty-five I met and married Ed. I knew Ed drank, but I didn't know anything about alcohol. I also knew he couldn't control his actions when under its influence. But being very egotistical, I felt all I had to do was snap my fingers and Ed would stop drinking. He did--for five years--but, believe me, those years were far from happy ones. During this time my sixteen-year-old son was killed in an automobile accident and I seemed to crawl into a shell.
