I HAD THE BRILLIANT IDEA of making a "Birthday Board" for the club rooms. . .the idea in back of it is to try and stir up the interest of the members in donating a dollar to GSO for each year of their sobriety. When I brought the matter up it was surprising how many said they'd never heard of the idea before. On the top of this board is this sign: "Birthday Board--is your name here? One dollar for each year of sobriety." As each acknowledgment comes in with the man's name on it, it will be posted on the board. Now you see why I want separate acknowledgments. . . . When our Spring Regional Meeting is held I will try and sell the idea to the rest of the groups. In the meantime, I mention the idea to any of the groups I come in contact with while I am away. I said this was brilliant--maybe you people won't think it so hot.
