How to Start a Jail Group

FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE to start a jail group I sincerely hope this will be of help . . . First we wrote to Governor of jails for Ontario and received permission to hold meetings in the Kent County Jail in Chatham, Ontario. Second, I called an intergroup meeting in Ridgetown of all the groups in the surrounding area; seven I believe were represented. At this intergroup meeting I acted as chairman. We decided that one man should be present at each meeting, taking along four new men each time so that the inmates would get to know one fellow and not meet an entirely different bunch of strangers at each meeting. I was the lucky guy voted to go each Sunday for a time. At this intergroup meeting we also decided that each of the seven groups would take turns sending four members with me to the meetings, so that each group would be present about every five or six weeks.
