THIS QUESTION--what is important?--was asked of me just after my first slip off the AA program. I was sitting in a dark corner of a small meeting hall, very nervous and very remorseful after a three-month drunk that had been worse than any in twenty-seven years of hard daily drinking before coming to AA.
