"Stop drinking"--"Go to meetings"--"Listen". . .soon the spine of the AA life emerges. To the agnostic, the disenchanted, the message comes slowly, inexorably. The life of the spirit is involved in this dawning recovery--one's relation to a power greater than oneself, no less.
