"BEAUTIFUL Hawaii--Paradise of the Pacific--Ha!" I thought. Yes, I was in the lovely islands, it was March. But I was in the Territorial Hospital for mental patients at Kaneohe; I was without a job, a cent, or a friend; and my wife had left me and was with our eight-month-old daughter in San Francisco, 2100 miles away.
