Catching On

INDIANAPOLIS radio and TV stations are evidencing a growing interest in local efforts to help the alcoholic. WFBM-TV recently aired two half hour programs, in which six masked AA members (three men and three women) participated as discussants under direction of a station staff member. Earlier, WLW-I and WTTV both offered alcoholism interviews of a general nature on TV. Later, Radio Station WISH broadcast programs on five consecutive days, featuring the work of the Indianapolis central AA office, the Alanon and Alanew clubs, and treatment centers--in all of which the fellowship program plays a prominent part. In view of the network offerings of the past few years, it might well be said that radio and TV are beginning to "catch on."
