Look Who's Conventional!

ONE book on alcoholism says that many of us are "afraid of the herd instinct." I'll buy that, if it means that I resist being a joiner. During the drinking years, when I did have to join a business or social organization, I never felt that I belonged. It seemed a bad joke that I was a listed member, and I was sure if they really knew me, I'd be out. I made fun of the ones who were in.
