Profile of an Alcoholic

AN alcoholic resists change while everything else is changing. He seeks not so much to re-create the past, as to keep the present standing still. He cannot seem to write finis to anything and may even refuse to accept death of intimates and try to perpetuate their existence in the way he feels about them. His failure to do so is typical of his basic drive to engage continuously in losing battles.
