A New Loner

UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA

There are no AA members in my district, Queenstown being my nearest contact. To my dismay, when I went to see the Queenstown AA secretary, I learned I was the first woman to approach him. As we were going to Port Elizabeth for the Easter weekend, I was advised to contact the group there. I did so. They were very helpful and explained a lot I couldn't understand and advised me to register with the General Service Office in New York as a "loner." I will also be writing to someone in Cape Town who deals principally with lone members.
