From the Grass Roots

ONE of our friends came into the office the other day to show us the letter printed below, and to tell us the heartwarming story that inspired it. We asked him if we could share it with you. It seems that on a visit lo Detroit a year or so ago, Glen P. slopped by the Intergroup office to pay his respects just before catching a plane back to his home town of N.Y.C. It happened that just at that time no one was in the office excepting the secretary and she asked Glen to speak to a young man in pretty rugged condition who had come in seeking help. Many cups of coffee and a couple of cancelled plane reservations later, Glen left for home. This letter arrived some months afterwards and shortly after receiving it Glen returned to Michigan on another visit. He called his correspondent to congratulate him and to thank him for the wonderful letter, and was invited to speak at the first anniversary of this "pigeon"--whom he had met just once, between planes. Glen counts this among his happiest traveling memories and so do we.--Ed.
