Middle Aged Are Easiest to Treat
THE man who becomes an alcoholic in middle-age responds to treatment much better and with more lasting results than the youthful alcoholic. Dr. Charles L. Wilbar, Pennsylvania state health secretary, said results from the department's rehabilitation center at Danville State Hospital indicate the middle-aged man is more inclined to accept guidance. In addition, he usually has a family, a business or some established position he wants to return to--in contrast to the young alcoholic.
