The only regret I have now is that I did not come to know of AA earlier. I'll not change this way of life for a million. Hearing and seeing examples all around me has also taught me not to be too cocksure of myself. I just nibble at AA a little at a time as it's a long-term program without any short cuts. If you forget you're an alcoholic, you're a goner; that's uppermost in my mind. Without this thought, that first drink will be just around the corner.
