The Twice Born

Like survivors of war and shipwreck, we live on borrowed time. Question: How well do we use it?

MANY men are twice born: the gravely ill, those returned from war, those who have been spared when disaster struck. All these and myriad others have faced the open door of Death and have had it closed for them. But how many recognize that they are truly creatures of God's special Grace bearing, thereafter, a most rare responsibility? How many are aware that, for the rest of their journey to that door which is open to all in the end, these chosen ones are bearing an extra burden--the gift of another miraculous chance? How well do they use it, these rerisen ones?"
