My two younger children, ages five and six, were begging me not to go to the AA meeting but to please stay home with them. My nine-year-old spoke up and said, "Mama has to go. You see, she's an alcoholic." Then the six-year-old turned to the five-year-old and said, "And that's not all, Sammy; she's anonymous too."
