P.S. From the Editor

"When I first came to AA," writes M.J.U. from Fort Collins, Colorado, "members loaned me eight years of Grapevines and they saved my life by substituting for many meetings I was unable to attend. I read these issues from cover to cover and have continued to do so for the past five years of sobriety. And yet for a long time I did not notice the information at the bottom of page 1 about your position on published material. I wonder if it shouldn't be set in bolder type and thus made more conspicuous to keep off the hecklers. Personally, I applaud the printing of controversial and stimulating articles. It renews my enthusiasm. It creates the fire, the spice and the 'think-instigator.' When I disagree with a reader, writer or speaker, I truly begin to think for myself, constructively. I learn more when I'm defending the Steps, the Traditions, AA as a whole, or my deep convictions."
