On Halo Polishing
Of all the good people in your Group, do you want to be known as the very goodest? If you do, it may be "dat ole debbil" ego again!
IT has occurred to me recently that the source of a certain state of unrest that I've noticed in myself and others who have been around AA for a while lies in a question. Who is wearing the brightest halo? Some of us who have felt ourselves to be long time winners in the competition of who's to be first on the road to hell, find ourselves suddenly reversed and jogging rapidly along on a densely populated road to heaven well in the rear guard. In a flash all of our erstwhile destructive energies are mobilized for the achievement of goodness.
