When AA was first mentioned to me as a way out of the miserable existence that I had allowed myself to get into, I thought of it as a cure, and as such I wanted no part of it. I found that I was the one to do the curing, and so on October 4, 1944, I started this new way of life, and to me, it has sure been worth while.
