Short Takes

Perhaps we mistakenly expect a spiritual experience to be something strange when it is actually to be found in the way we understand and live through what happens to us each twenty-four hours. Spiritual growth, to me, is growth in sensitivity, growth in awareness, growth in the capacity to see and understand the deepest meaning of what we say and do. All other growth eventually must become secondary to this, and this kind of growth makes all else worthwhile. This, to me, is the foundation of life in AA, or for that matter, the foundation of life anywhere.
