Why I Should Attend Meetings on Stormy Nights
- Because when I became affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous, attendance at meetings was advised. No mention was made of excepting stormy evenings.
- Because I expected the Chairman to be there. I should be surprised if he remained away on account of inclement weather.
- Because by staying away I lose an opportunity to express my gratitude to God for my new way of life.
- Because by staying away I lose an opportunity of transmitting or receiving helpful ideas.
- Because my presence is more needed on those evenings when they are few than when the hall is full.
- Because my example must influence others. If I stay away, why not they?
- Because those who absent themselves on stormy nights, frequently do so on the fairest of evenings.
- Because there is a special promise that where two or three are gathered in God's name, He will meet with them.
- Because such yielding to surmountable difficulties leads to yielding to those which are merely imaginary. Soon hundreds never enter the hall and yet think they have a good reason for staying away.
