Why I Should Attend Meetings on Stormy Nights

  1. Because when I became affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous, attendance at meetings was advised. No mention was made of excepting stormy evenings.

  2. Because I expected the Chairman to be there. I should be surprised if he remained away on account of inclement weather.

  3. Because by staying away I lose an opportunity to express my gratitude to God for my new way of life.

  4. Because by staying away I lose an opportunity of transmitting or receiving helpful ideas.

  5. Because my presence is more needed on those evenings when they are few than when the hall is full.

  6. Because my example must influence others. If I stay away, why not they?

  7. Because those who absent themselves on stormy nights, frequently do so on the fairest of evenings.

  8. Because there is a special promise that where two or three are gathered in God's name, He will meet with them.

  9. Because such yielding to surmountable difficulties leads to yielding to those which are merely imaginary. Soon hundreds never enter the hall and yet think they have a good reason for staying away.
