Referring to the article "An Atheist Speaks Out", I believe your acknowledgment of the fact that there are dedicated atheists in our program is long overdue. Being an atheist myself and agreeing with E. L. one hundred per cent I thank you gratefully. It does no good to close our eyes to these things and expect them to go away. I have fourteen years of solid sobriety through our AA program. My good AA brothers and sisters have put up with me and I would be a hypocritical alcoholic and probably have gotten drunk long ago had I ever entertained the idea of not putting up with them, too.
