The Cup That Saddens
The empty coffee cup is the saddest cup of all. The cup that is left empty on meeting night indicates that some member is not present. The members wait and hope he will show up and add strength to the group. He is missed at the meeting, but he misses something, too. For many an empty cup of coffee has become the prelude to a sad and early epitaph.
