This is a note of thanks to you for your recent article on fear in the Grapevine, which was a real restorative for me which arrived, so it seemed, just in the nick of time. Now a year and a half in AA, I had begun to wonder if my faith in the program was not perhaps some childish chimera. But indeed not! You have somehow managed to convince me that all is not vanity--that there is purpose, meaning and reasonableness in the universe; that the pain, suffering and struggles of our lives are not all conceived in a vacuum of meaningless chance.
