Encounter With Old Age

THIS week I went to a neighboring city to attend a meeting. I arrived for my appointment early, so I occupied my time reading. As I sat there, I felt someone place himself beside me. I took no notice of him. When I had finished reading the article I replaced the magazine on the table. The man who was sitting next to me, taking advantage of the interlude confronted me with a sudden and completely unexpected question, "Are you depressed?" he inquired.
